The Agnes Films Production, 'The Last Conception' proved to be a surprise package. Producer/Director Gabriella Ledesma is clearly a slick operator, and she must have been as impressed by this lighthearted story, as we both were. This is a thoroughly professional, believable and entertaining format, that deals with a modern day dilemma in the most entertaining of ways. We would like to think, that it will not only entertain, but also help modern day issues be seen less contentiously. Full marks to all concerned, and a huge vote of confidence to the stories author Gabriel Constans. Lesley Roach and Nick Charles MBE.

I really enjoyed this movie. It's a fun, charming family comedy that you can just sit back and enjoy. With witty dialogue, engaging characters and an interesting storyline, you can't go wrong.

The Last Conception (2020). I loved this movie. It had elements of two of my favorite movies: the clash of cultures in Where's the Party Yaar? (2003) and the difficulty of coming out to your own family in Happiest Season (2020). A great screenplay by Gabriel Constans with its constant twists and turns kept me interested throughout the movie. Spoiler alert: Another reason I liked it is because I'm a Buddhist.

Really liked the family moments and the relationship between them. Clever, short and sweet! Watched with my wife and kids who also enjoyed it! Nice to see a family movie that features an LGBTQ couple.

After a rough day I stumbled across this amazing little nugget of a movie. OMG it did not disappoint. Happy, smart, funny and witty! The creators should all feel very proud-they did an amazing job. The trailer doesn't do this movie justice. Wow! What a feel good film - hilarious! Can't wait to recommend to all of my friends and family. Emma Bruce - Author 10/10 it's got my vote! As a side note I'd just like to say thank you for creating such a hilariously funny feel good movie, it really did help lift my mood. Hopefully much can be said for others who are perhaps having a touch time. Five Stars all the way!

You don't often see movies tagged "gay" and "buddhist" when searching for a light-hearted comedy on a Friday night, but that is exactly how this film captures a unique niche so perfectly! Nazanin Mandi as Savarna, and Marshall Manesh as her somewhat confused but sympathetic father, headline the cast in this original take on Indian parental angst. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this endearing little movie, that explored coming out, Buddhism, IVF with a friend, and a host of other issues without ever taking itself too seriously. Matt Richards as Savarna's' sympathetic friend Jackson, ready to donate his sperm for a good cause, is hilarious in a nice understated performance. But it is Mandi as Savarna who really lights up the screen with her brooding good looks, impossible hair styles and mysterious eyes that make it impossible for the viewer to turn away whenever she is on screen. In the end it's all about family and a very special little girl who might be more just the family's salvation. Give this little gem a spin!

It's unusual to see a movie representing Indian culture coming out of Hollywood, but The Last Conception has a lot going for it. Savarna Sikand (Nazanin Mandi), and her girlfriend (played by Callie Schuttera) have been dating for a couple of years but so far Savarana hasn't got around to introducing her partner to the family. Knowing how much her parents want her to produce offspring (and never mind the fact of her being the last in line of a great spiritual lineage), the young woman decides it's time to put them out of their misery. While I don't usually review movies, this one being written by a writer pal of mine, I thought I'd better give it a look. Based on his book of the same title, Gabriel Constans has created a multi-cultural rom-com that, though at times feels more like a sit-com than a movie, is an enjoyable frolic. The film doesn't necessarily tie up all the loose ends but is nevertheless a heart-warming tale that takes in LGBTQ couples, modern lifestyles and romance, without getting cheesy or cliched. Directed by Gabriela Ledesma and starring the likes of Marshall Manesh (as Savarna's father) and Roberta Ranlen (hilarious as Callie's mother), the cast does a stirling job in this thought-provoking and entertaining film.

Many people flounder under the weight of family expectations, but for Savarna's family, those expectations are a bit heavier and a lot more bizarre than most. She navigates all this with the help of her quirky, adoring girlfriend, a charmingly goofy best friend, and a healthy dose of cynicism. The Last Conception delivers laughs and heartwarming moments in nearly equal measure thanks to a smart, witty script and bright, energetic performances from the cast. This is a fun film to watch with loved ones, and it will make you want to believe in love, family, friendship...and maybe even destiny.

This entertaining film manages to capture the awkward moments between family members when a young professional "comes out" to their family with a fiancee in tow, but the film never takes itself too seriously either. A happier, more light-hearted version of the Royal Tennebaums. It speaks of modern relationships, family and romantic love and looks at our individual responsibility to adhere to expected traditions when we create our own families or to pave our own way. I laughed a lot watching this film and especially loved the grandmother and her entourage. Quirky, joyful and witty without trying too hard. If you enjoy Indie Films that are more about heart than car chases, you will love this one.
