OSM Class #9: Mae Mai Muaythai with Ajahn Chao every Friday

Ajahn Chao brings a special guest, Kru Rang Sang, Asian Championship gold medalist and Navy Seal from Kazakhstan, to show Mae Mai technique taught in OSM Class #4. Ajahn Chao and Kru Rang Sang goes over the basic movement and also goes through three Mae Mai techniques individually and shows students how to mix and put the choreographed movements together. Jot Muay – Guard position Seub Na – slide forward Seub Lang – slide backward Sai – left Kwah – right Mah Yong – horse walk Yang Sam Kum - 3 golden steps When you block make sure the elbow is on the outside of the leg 1. Block/Defend kick and attack with kick 2. Salab Fan Pla - “Switching Fish Teeth” – defending straight punch from the outside 3. Paksa Waeng Rang - “Bird Peeping Through the Nest” – defending straight punch from the inside 4. Chawa sat hok – “Chawa throws a spear” – here you strike the kidney with the elbow At the end of the session we also meet Kru Rang Sang's daughter, Friendly who actively practices the art of muaythai.
